Rev Up DEI Summit 2022 was a Success
|
CADIA's Rev Up 2030 kicked off the day with an in-person only workshop Empathy in Action: Managing DEI Conversations in the Workplace followed by a live and live-streamed conference.
|
CADIA held the 5th annual Rev Up DEI Summit in late May. Meeting proceedings are available on the CADIA website.
Telva McGruder, chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer, General Motors Company opened the meeting by talking about taking actions that promote long term, self-sustaining outcomes in the ways businesses embody DEI. She talked about the environments we can create where everyone owns DEI - which will lead to true sustainability.
McGruder was joined by DEI Champions who shared insights on their personal and professional "why," case studies in DEI, discussions on global engagement, and how DEI is essential for the future of the industry. Download presentations or view the recording.

CADIA Workshop: Empathy in Action--Managing DEI Conversations in the Workplace
|
CADIA offers more than 25 different workshops live, in person or virtually. In Empathy in Action, participants will learn to address questions and comments like the following:
- I am colorblind. I don’t see race.
- I have religious beliefs that prevent me from supporting Gay Pride at work.
- I have had to work just as hard as everyone else to get where I am.
- Isn’t this just reverse racism?
Through small group conversation, role play and breakouts, workshop attendees will gain skill, confidence, and new avenues to provide safe space for DEI conversations. These will serve as a means to include all employees in the DEI journey and to truly be included and feel a strong sense of belonging.
Let CADIA facilitate the conversations that foster understanding, growth and change. Contact Jennifer Harding for more information on how to bring this workshop to your workplace.

The CEO Coalition for Change was created by CEOs committed to taking the actions necessary to make meaningful strides in diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry.
It is, at its heart, a learning community. Members understand that no one person or company has a complete understanding of DEI, and all want to engage, share and learn from one another.
The Coalition Annual Report is now available. The CEO Coalition for Change is a no-cost offering from CADIA in partnership with MICHauto. Your CEO or individual with equivalent responsibility should be a member of this group. For more information or to request an overview, contact Margaret Baxter.
